The Bahia Principe resorts have recently been announced by Hyatt as major changes to the loyalty program: they will become a part of World of Hyatt. These resorts will eventually be included in the All Inclusive award chart of Hyatt, a move that will increase the offerings that the program has and will offer new points redemption opportunities at high-end vacation resorts. The inclusion of Bahia Principe in the award chart will be based on a structured point system, unlike partnerships like Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which make use of dynamic pricing.
This news is especially thrilling to the travellers who are fond of resorts that are all inclusive and use loyalty points to get a holiday. Although the exact resorts to be classified in which category of award they are going to, will not be disclosed until integration day, Hyatt assured that the program will officially come into effect March 24, 2026. Up to that point, it is impossible to earn points, no benefits are applicable, and no bookings of awards are possible.
After the Bahia Principles resorts have been incorporated, the world of hyatt members will be able to gain and redeem the points in a way they have been used to. Visitors will earn five base points on every qualified dollar on room rates, as well as bonus-points based on their elite status. The purchase eligibility will also be used to achieve tier status, Milestone Rewards and the Brand Explorer Award, which will give a free night to travelers who have tried five different brands of Hyatt.

The prospects of redemption are favourable as well. Free night at Bahia Principe resorts will begin at 12,000 points per night in off-peak seasons and increased rates in standard seasons and peak seasons. Although not all of these properties will offer some of the perks like Suite Night Awards or Cash + Points booking, elite members will still receive a uniform experience on perks offered at a property.
The Bahia Principe resorts are rated into six categories of award nights, including Category A to F, with off season, standard rate and peak rate being well spelt out. As an illustration, the cost of the Category A resorts will be 12,000 points during the off-peak seasons, 15,000 during the standard seasons, and 18,000 during the peak seasons. The more premium categories, including Category F, are going to begin at 42,000 points off-peak and increase to 58,000 points in peak times.
This systematic award scheme provides the members a clear picture on what they should have in terms of points to have each stay against some dynamic pricing schemes which vary greatly depending on the demand. It also enables the members to design comprehensive holidays and vacations at an enhanced efficiency with the gap knowledge of the precise point investment necessary.
Bahia Principe portfolio covers various countries and provides the World of Hyatt members with access to the Caribbean resorts as well as Mexico and Spain. Some of the renowned properties in Dominican Republic are Cayo Levantado Resort, Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana, Bahia Principe Grand Samana (Adults Only) and Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville (Adults Only) among others. The resorts all suit various types of travelers, including family resorts and adults-only ones.
Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, and the more recently introduced Bahia Principe Grand Tequila all provide beach access and an all-inclusive experience in Mexico. Jamaica completes the list with Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica and Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay that offer North American tourists luxurious stays in the tropics.
When complete integration of these resorts takes place, the members of World of Hyatt are likely to enjoy customary level of loyalty benefits, including earning points on qualifying stays, earning elite bonuses, and counting nights towards status. Moreover, the Brand Explorer Award will be donated to the stays at Bahia Principe properties. This enables members to receive a free Category 1-4 night upon visiting five different Hyatt brands, giving the more adventurous travellers the chance to visit many different destinations and earn maximum rewards.
There are however some limitations. These resorts will not have Suite Night Awards and Cash + Points redemptions. Although this limits some of the flexibility that experienced members of Hyatt could desire, overall, the benefits of the program are not low especially regarding individuals who want complete luxury vacation at the point.
The proposed acquisition of Bahia Principe by World of Hyatt will not only enhance the portfolio of World of Hyatt, but the acquisition will be a huge value addition to the members. All-inclusive resorts are now more popular in terms of points redemption since they enable the travelers to pay money in advance regarding accommodation, meals, and entertainment, essentially increasing the worth of loyalty points.
With the consolidation of these resorts in a systematic award chart, Hyatt guarantees the consistency of redemptions and easy planning. It is also no longer required that members browse through tedious pricing models but they can easily select the resorts depending on the cost of points, location and the vacation type. It is also calculated by the inclusion of both the adults-only option and the family-friendly option so that the program serves a large range of travelers.

Since the date of integration, Hyatt members will have an opportunity to book award stays in Bahia Principe resorts, earn points, and enjoy tier benefits. Although it is not yet clear where each property falls in the award chart, one can expect attractive redemption rates depending on the All Inclusive categories that currently exist within Hyatt.
In the case of anyone working on the Brand Explorer Award, it is possible to accomplish the five brand requirement at the Bahia Principles resorts, and receive free nights staying at a Hyatt property of any kind. It also encourages the loyalty members to visit several resorts and areas that will add great value to the program.
The acquisition of the Bahia Principe resorts by World of Hyatt is an expansion of Hyatt loyalty at a large scale particularly to tourists who are more focused on all-inclusive experiences. The members will enjoy a wide portfolio of properties that will serve families, couples, and adults-only visitors due to the resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Spain.
Although some limitations exist such as the inability to use Suite Night Awards or Cash + Points bookings the integration overall strengthens Hyatt’s points ecosystem, offering predictable award pricing, elite benefits, and opportunities to earn free nights through the Brand Explorer program. For travelers planning vacations post-March 2026, Bahia Principe resorts provide both value and variety under the World of Hyatt umbrella, making them an attractive addition for loyalty program members.
