Chase has a couple new updates for Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ cardholders or for those who have their eyes set on the card for their business's travel expenses. One is truly a win and it'll help you save money. The other trims an advantage which, practically, is of interest to a tiny fraction of cardholders. Here are what changes are coming, when they are coming and if you have to change anything about it.
So, let's get to the bit everyone wants to hear, shall we? The Edit by Chase Travel goes from $500 to $1,000 annually starting Jan. 1, 2027. Not a little bump, it's double-sized and it falls automatically for all who hold the card.
This is how it works in practice. It does not come as one big statement credit, instead it is divided into four individual statement credits of up to $250. The good news is that Chase isn't asking you to commit to "using one per quarter or else. Unlike a quarterly system, all four credits can be earned any time during the year for a travel calendar to provide business owners with greater flexibility.
There's a trick to being able to reap the benefits of the credit, however, and that's: you must stay for at least two nights. If the trip is to be returned on the same day, so that a quick overnight won't suffice, you'll want to plan trips that clear that threshold.
The credit isn't the only thing that's sweetening these bookings. The Edit's portfolio properties are equipped with their own complimentary additional benefits, such as:
Add it all up and Chase calculates that the average value of all of these per trip is more than $550. If you already know you are traveling for a business purpose whether it's a dinner with clients, a conference or team offsite it's really free money.
And, one last note: This is only for the business card. This only changes the Edit Credit on the personal Chase Sapphire Reserve®; if you are holding that version of the card, your Edit credit is not affected.

So here's the change that's not receiving as many applauses. The 3x rewards will no longer be unlimited on social media and search engine advertising (Meta & Google ad spend) beginning Nov. 15, 2026. Chase is putting a $1 million limit on annuity spend before the bonus rate goes down.
After $1 million, you don't cease to earn at all you earn at the standard (base) 1x rate on anything over $1 million, and you can earn as much as you want at the base 1x rate.
If you're curious about what Chase means by that "anniversary year," it's a bit of a quirk at first: The first year is from November 15, 2026, to the next monthly statement with an annual fee charge, followed by a 12-month anniversary period thereafter.
But who is feeling this? Well, not many, really. When your business is spending a couple of thousand dollars a month on ads on Google or social media you won't be anywhere near this cap it's not that much for your rewards strategy. It's seriously geared towards businesses with a big ad budget. If your company is spending well into seven figures per year on digital advertising, it will be worthwhile to sit down and work out the earnings loss, as there are 3 million points for a $1M spend at 3x before the rate reduces.
These are two changes but not a change to the core value proposition of the card. The card's lucrative earning structure remains unchanged for travel and regular business transactions, similarly as you travel, you'll have access to Sapphire Lounges, and you'll continue to benefit from the comprehensive travel benefits that the card is well known for.
The partner credits are also not impacted, such as:

Combined, these two changes will be a boon to most Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders. Only a small number of businesses are being impacted by the advertising cap, and this is businesses that are spending more than $1 million a year on social and search ads. In all mean time, the double Edit credit is available for all cardholders, so there's no exclusion at all and no extra spending to unlock the Edit credit.
If you have this card, the best strategy is to make at least four of your two night stays for Edit properties next year. Do that, and you'll rack up the full $1,000 worth of credit, and the bonus you get with every stay, all on its own, without considering the credit you'll earn with the points program or the partner credit. This is a good news, bad news kind of change, but for most of the business owners it's a good news.
