Rent is the big expense most people face every month and for many years, rewards were one of the few areas they could not earn them for major expenses. Bilt Rewards upended that equation when it rolled out its platform designed to give users points for renting, and it has continued to roll out more co-branded cards that can benefit users for renting.

The new increment is an important one for those who pay rent using a loyalty credit card: Beginning August 5, 2026, Bilt Rewards members with a Qatar Airways Privilege Club co-branded credit card will get 3x Avios on the first $50,000 of annual rent paid via the Bilt platform. This introduces an additional earning opportunity for Qatar Airways Privilege Club members, especially those who actively use Qatar Airways with an extra earning opportunity on an expense which previously did not generate any revenue, for Qsuites, one of the most coveted business class products in commercial aviation.

The Actual Implementation of the Partnership

It's simple: pay rent on Bilt by either of the two available Qatar Airways co-branded credit cards and earn 3x Avios per rent-dollar. The two cards to be qualified are Qatar Airways Privilege Club Infinite Credit Card and Qatar Airways Privilege Club Visa Signature Credit Card.

One thing to consider before this is a 'no brainer' is that Bilt transactions for rentals made by any card other than Bilt card are 3%! The fee would be $60 a month on a $2,000 rent. On a $3,000 monthly payment, it's $90. This fee is not exclusive to Qatar Airways cards, and is imposed on all co-branded card arrangements on the Bilt platform; but it's the number that will make the numbers add up in your favor.

It is entirely dependent on what you can get for your 3x Avios when you redeem them whether you value it as a deal at 3%. Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios: 3x per dollar translates to three Avios per dollar of rent. If you figure the cost per Avia point, at 3% you are paying about 1 cent per Avia point. If the value of your typical Avios redemption is 2 cents or more per point (which Qsuites redemptions are quite regularly), then the math works. If you're more of an Avios short haul/high value redemption man, this becomes a much more difficult decision to make.

The Strong Bond Between Existing and Bilt-Qatar

The card integration is a partnership between Bilt Rewards and Qatar Airways Privilege Club that already exists. Bilt Points earned on regular transactions via Bilt Mastercard, such as the no-cost conversion of rent payments to Bilt Points, can be transferred, already, at a 1:1 ratio to Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

The new co-branded card earning also brings a new path for earning additional points just for renting, but with a higher earning rate than the usual Bilt transfer method, and with the usual transaction fee. If the fee-to-value calculation supports it, the two structures can complement each other standard purchases and earn Bilt Points (1:1 conversion), but when renting, use the co-branded card to accumulate Avios points.

Apart from Qatar Airways, There are Other Members of the Expanding list of Airline Partners

Now, Qatar Airways Privilege Club is among a growing group of airline programs that are co-branding cards that let members earn points toward rent. Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, Air France-KLM Flying Blue and United Airlines MileagePlus all have similar programs, and the same 3% transaction fee rate is also found in all of them.

The 3% fee is the common denominator in all partnerships. It is not exclusive to Qatar, nor is it bound to end and therefore to build any of these co-branded card rent payments into a sustainable strategy, you need to be aware of what you're likely to get back for your money before paying the fee.

This is for whom this is the Most Appropriate?

The simple answer is: Qatar Airways Privilege Club members who frequently book Qsuites or other higher cabin awards who redeem their Avios value at a rate of 2 cents per point or more. At this point the cost of the Avios is roughly 1 cent per Avios using this method, and is comparable to buying Avios directly or earning them in lower-yielding ways.

The 3% fee completely removes the advantage to the member who redeems most of their Avios for economy tickets or for partner redemptions where the value per point is closer to 1 cent. If so, then the 1:1 transfer to Qatar from a Bilt Mastercard is the clear, no-fee option.

It's a $50,000 cap per year for 3x with the earnings, so the max from this channel is 150,000 Avios per year (provided renting enough to get close to the cap). 150,000 Avios is a significant step towards a Qsuites redemption for those who are actively pursuing them.

The Avios Ecosystem Angle

If you're considering getting Avios by this route, one important note to keep in mind is that the Avios currency is the same as the currency used by British Airways Privilege Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub and Finnair Plus. These programs can exchange Avios, though at this time, they must pass through a British Airways Executive Club account before reaching a Qatar Airways Privilege Club account.

That means Avios that are redeemed using the Bilt rent pathway aren't restricted to Qatar redemptions they can be transferred to whichever Avios program will maximize their redemption value for you given your travel needs. It is one of the features that's often overlooked in the Avios ecosystem, and it provides a degree of optionality when it comes to earning Avios, as it may appear.

The Bottom Line

The company's integration with Qatar Airways Privilege Club service has been extended, with Bilt cardholders with the Qatar Airways Infinite and Visa Signature credit cards earning 3x Avios on rent paid via the Bilt platform up to $50,000 per year. While all rent payments charged with non-Bilt cards incur a 3% transaction fee, the reward value of this earning path will be closely linked to the Avios redemptions that you're aiming at. 

Where Avios can be swapped for 2 cents or more in value in a Qsuites or other premium Qatar Airways cabin award, the numbers are in the favour of paying the fee, as long as the frequent flyer is booking such awards regularly. The lower redemption values make it more cost-effective to earn Bilt Points using the Bilt Mastercard, which can be transferred to Qatar at 1:1 without any fees.
