Air Canada is also preparing a thrilling winter travel, adding new destinations, widening those already in operation and availing year-round flights to Europe more affordable. The airline has a lot to offer, be it in sun-baked beaches in Mexico, or in the bustling cities of South America, or even in having a European adventure. This is a closer examination of what will be experienced by the travelers during the season.
As of December, the nonstop flights to Quito (UIO), the beautiful Ecuadorian capital, will be available to Canada in both Montréal (YUL) and Toronto (YYZ). The Andean city has never been as accessible as it is now since these routes are the only direct routes linking Canada to Quito.
Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays The flight will run between December 4, 2026 and March 27, 2027 with flights going out and back the next day.
Toronto to Quito will operate weekly on Saturdays, with the return flights on Sundays, which will operate between December 5, 2026, and March 21, 2027.
On these routes, Air Canada will use Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. The passengers in the business class will find lie-flat seats, luxury facilities and an enjoyable long-haul journey. At present, the fares are not displayed in the Air Canada reservation system, thus passengers will be required to revisit it in the near future to get the cost and availability.
Quito has a beautiful scenery that was surrounded by mountains and volcanoes which makes it a bucket-list destination. Not to mention the great cultural heritage, visitors may enjoy global cuisine, colonial buildings, and breathtaking perspectives such as El Panecillo.

Air Canada is also introducing new seasonal routes between Calgary (YYC) and Mexico (Cancun (CUN) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR)). The two destinations are the best places where the holiday travelers can go to avoid cold winters in Canada.
Air Canada Rouge will run these flights on Boeing 737 MAX aircrafts, similar to those that their competitor WestJet operate on these flights. Customers should expect quality service, accounts with new cabins, and direct connection to the two most sought-after beach resorts in Mexico.
Puerto Vallarta is a fascinating city with the beautiful old town and spectacular sunsets that creates the best balance between leisure and adventure. Meanwhile, Cancun boasts of clear waters, upscale resorts as well as vibrant night life.
The interest of Canada travelers is beginning to grow as Air Canada is responding to a high demand of traveling to South America by adding frequency and initiating some of its services earlier. Montréal will have increased flights to Bogotá and Santiago, as the number of flights will increase to 4 weekly flights, and Lima will also get an increased number of flights up to 3 weekly flights starting October 25, 2026. The number of flights of Toronto to Lima also increases to 2 to 3 flights per week since October 24, 2026, although flights to Rio de Janeiro are not changed.
These announcements point to the interest of Air Canada in South American markets, providing the travelers with more direct and convenient ways. For their winter holidays, passengers can now be more flexible whether they are visiting the culture of Lima and Bogotas or enjoying the famous landscapes of Rio de Janeiro and Santiago.
Air Canada is not halting at winter sun destinations. Airline is also increasing its European operations by transforming the summer season flights to year round flights between Toronto and Copenhagen (CPH) and Manchester (MAN) in the U.K.
The Toronto-Copenhagen flights will be made on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning October 27, 2026, and have next-day return options.
In the meantime, the Toronto to Manchester flights will be performed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday since October 25, 2026, with the next-day reverse as well.
Both onboarding routes will be operated using the new Airbus A321XLR, which will have lie-flat business class seats. These smaller and long-range aircraft enable Air Canada to effectively run on narrower routes whilst offering its passengers an excellent tourism feel.
To the tourists who have decided to have a European adventure, these flights are available throughout the entire year, thus they have additional flexibility as well as a chance to have an adventure in Europe during the low seasons. It could be a cold winter in Denmark or a holiday season in Manchester, but 24/7 convenience will simplify the process.
The route announcements of the Winter 20262027 of Air Canada are indicative of the trends in the overall airline industry:
Higher Pressure to Explore New Destinations: Travelers are insisting on new experience other than the classical vacation spots. This appetite is served by nonstop Quito, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta.
Smaller Long-Haul Aircraft Provide Flexibility: Boeing 787-8 and Airbus A321XLR aircraft have enabled airline companies to open up new routes to destinations that would not have been profitable with larger widebody jets.
Strategic South America Growth: Air Canada is tapping South American growth by increasing its flights and launching early flights.
Year-Round European: Summer to winter conversion of routes will offer Canadian passengers increased travel options, whether it is leisure or business travel.

New Quito route and South American flights are to be planned early due to their high demand by the travelers. Mexico and South America are good when one wants to get away to winter to experience the cultural diversity and natural landscapes whereas Europe is the way to go to experience the history, art and the festive winter.
Pro Tip: Take the points/miles and redeem to get the most out of a long-haul flight, particularly a lie-flat business seat on the 787 and A321XLR. Loyalty program in Air Canada could serve to cut the cost and also provide a comfortable travel.
The winter schedule operated by Air Canada in 2026-2027 proves that the company has its feet in new and exciting destinations, and the airline has to unite Canadians. Travelers can now have more options than ever before anywhere they are going, whether in the Andes or the Caribbean and across the Atlantic. You can be going after winter sun, or travelling the cities of South America, or going to the European continent, but these route expansions make any form of planning even more attractive and easier.
The combination of new destinations, expanded frequencies, and innovative aircraft means Canadian travelers can look forward to a season of exploration, comfort, and convenience. Start mapping your winter adventure now Air Canada is ready to take you there.
