Bonus Point Offers are Coming Soon to the World of Hyatt Check Your Account Today

Bonus Point Offers are Coming Soon to the World of Hyatt Check Your Account Today

There is a series of targeted promotions currently offered by World of Hyatt for bonus points in the future. Points will differ depending on the member and some offer 2000 points for 2 nights stay and some offer 3x points for 2 nights stay. Check your account and discover what's ready for you.

World of Hyatt may be the perfect place to log in your account if you haven't been there for a while. It's been a while since Hyatt last rolled out a series of bonus point offers, and there might be one worth landing in your offers tab, depending on how you've used the hotel's service. These offers are not marketed to the general public, so the deal that you've received (if you have received one) may be entirely different from another person's.

There's a lot of variation in what folks are getting. Some members are getting an opportunity to earn 2,000 bonus points per two qualifying nights up to a maximum of 20,000 points over 20 nights. Others have offered a 3X bonus points promotion with 30,000 bonus points as the cap. And some are seeing easier "stay 5 nights, earn 10,000 bonus points" deals. No single offer; they are custom pieces of deals on your basis on your account activity and stay history.

Who's Most Likely to Have an Offer?

These promotions appear to be targeting inactive members, which is the typical play in the loyalty promotion arena. If you're not up to date with your Hyatt stay or have a family member or travel partner that has a dormant account with World of Hyatt, it's well worth logging on and checking! Don't be surprised if Hyatt continues to send their win back offers to lapsed members and this round of promotions falls in line with that.

If the main account doesn't have anything special, it could be that a partner or spouse does. One person in the family might be an elite, and be responsible for making all bookings under their name but the less active person's account may have a surprisingly good deal available. It's worth taking a two-minute look.

It is important to know the Key Terms before registering

So before you start jumping up and down, there's a few rules to abide by when it comes to promotions. Be sure to read the details of your offer, but the following conditions apply to the majority of different versions of this promotion:

  • Registration is required and must be an active enrollment to the promotion before you're eligible to have a stay. Nights that are not completed prior to registration will not count.
  • Must register and complete qualifying activity within 90 days of receipt of offer.
  • Both eligible rates and free night awards count an eligible night is a night that you are staying at a rate or using a free night certificate that is eligible.
  • Only nights in the room that you've booked for yourself count nights in other rooms booked by other members of your party won't add to your total.
  • Click on the membership number before checkout and after checkout make sure to provide your World of Hyatt number before you leave for each qualifying stay.
  • Bonus points are added within 2-3 weeks after the stay do not expect to see your points in your account immediately after your stay, it takes a few weeks for the points to be processed.

When Math is actually aiding and not hindering

As with many hotel loyalty offers, it's what you get out of this road trip depends on how your travel patterns clearly fit the requirements. If you already have other Hyatt hotel stays booked in the promotion time frame, it is simply bonus points with no extra work. That's the best of all scenarios: register, stay, collect points.

But it becomes more interesting when you start calculating on point redemptions. For instance, the 2,000 points for 2 nights of play. A member who booked 20 nights at a Hyatt Category 1 off-peak property (which can be as low as 3,000 points per night) would pay about 60,000 points for the base cost of the stay. The net outlay is reduced to 40,000 points over 20 nights with the 20,000 points from the promotion. This equals about 2,000 points per night, and is a pretty good rate for Hyatt redemption, to boot, for earning elite qualifiers.

This isn't for everyone because you'd have to have the ability to make those stays and the points to redeem. However, in certain scenarios, the numbers add up to a compelling reason for members to pursue Globalist status or to try to use one last "points balance.

A practical consideration of which to think

If you're a high activity member of Hyatt, and your travel mate has a lower activity member, and they have a good targeted offer, there's a pretty large strategic challenge there. If you book on the companion's account to earn the bonus points, you sacrifice Globalist perks such as suite upgrades, club lounge and late checkout. This is a trade-off that will vary depending on the trip and properties involved.

If you are traveling for business or if you are not looking for an elite experience anyway, it may be better to take the cheaper one, since you will not be expecting to get much out of it. If it is a significant event or a property that will benefit from meaningful improvements, probably not. This is a calculation that should be done on a stay-by-stay basis, and not as a blanket policy.
